Having written fourteen non-fiction books on physiotherapy and exercise over the past thirty years, Dr Chris Norris has branched out with his writing.  Now, for the first time he has written a novel!

Called Fractured Healer, the novel features several themes which will be familiar to anyone who has ever seen a therapist.  Ideas such as self-empowerment, resilience, and of course the use of exercise.  In addition, friendship and love are threads which wind their way through the novel between characters and over timeframes.

Fractured Healer is a contemporary novel which introduces Liz McClennan a leading surgeon.  We go back to her schooldays where as an only child with overprotective parents she is a bit of a bookworm and finds it hard to make friends.  While at school she doesn’t really like sports until one day the P.E. teacher sends the class for a run around the school field.  Being out in the fresh air, hearing the birds and smelling the fresh grass is so magical to Liz that from then on running becomes her thing – she literally runs through life!

Liz and her newfound friend Suzanne go to a uni freshers party where an event occurs that haunts Liz for the next twenty years.  Will she be able to find the inner strength and finally move on?

We follow her university life and first love with humour and poignancy, where she struggles  with intimacy and learns that sometimes even best friends can let you down.

Fast forward to the present day and what will happen when guilt, trauma, friendship, and perseverance intersect?

This is a story of how someone must rebuild their self-esteem while others around them seek redemption.  Can the flame of first love be reignited many years later?

Fractured Healer deals with love, regrets, and the loneliness of a 40-something life.   An essential holiday read – available in Waterstones, WH Smith, Foyles and all good online bookshops.  Order direct from the publisher here Fractured Healer | Troubador Publishing  Available Now!!
